Co-Ed Volleyball

One of my favorite facts about Volleyball is that when you play you have fun! Anyone can have fun spiking, serving, and blocking. It’s one of my favorite sports. I first started playing while I was in the 7th grade and worked my way up to improve my skills. 2 year’s ago when I was going school here, we had an all girls team, and this year is Mix 6. It was a good challenge, but it’s more challenging this year. We have about 4 boys and 7 girls this year. Not only having girls on the team is brilliant having boys is too!

Most of the boys think it’s weird having to play, but some enjoy playing. Luckily, everyone has a choice whether to participate or not. You have to have a lot of teamwork skills and major one I think is communication. Communication is very important because you can never have a successful team without talking to each other. That’d be impossible. There’s always going to have to be 3 boys and 3 girls at times, but if one boy isn’t eligible for school than a girl can sub-in for one.

There are many rules to the game, but all you have to do is memorize the moves that you make. You can never get into the net because that will call for the other team a point. All teams are required to get your foot over the line as long ass you step your foot-back out by dragging it. There are many rules that might not seem like it is a rule so memorizing the aspects for Volleyball. For an example; if you block the ball after they try to spike it on over to the other side of the court, you have to be sure that you block with both of your hands.

Also Volleyball is one of the favorite sports that people in China and Japan enjoy maybe because they have tall players. Tall players are not only spikers they’re also blockers. Blockers are very important because one when someone sets it up, and someone gets ready to hit it, you have to jump and block it with most of your strength. Those Chinese Women in the Olympics were pretty good, but USA had it all the way I thought. They had very good communication, they were able to be on their feet and hit it over the net.

Once again Volleyball doesn’t only include with girls it does with boys too. Many boys choose to join because they are stepping up to the plate where they want to spike, serve, and bump. Bumping, spiking, and serving are the main hits besides setting. All the hits are important because it may count as a hit. The only thing that is you follow the rules, practice a lot, and see who goes to Championship! It’s your choice though, but you never know what can happen so try it on out, go in for Co-Ed Volleyball!
